I have had Dave out on the beach several times and he really likes to fly fish. He also wanted to learn how to tie flies so I was glad to see him at the Fly Tying Symposium where he picked up a vice, some tools, and some materials.
Today I trucked over just about all of my "stuff" and we went over it all from start to finish, vices and tools, tons of materials, hooks, threads, acrylics and epoxies, and whatever else I dragged over. We went over some techniques and he did a great job tying a couple of flies as the afternoon ended.
What a great time to start fly tying as the winter months approach us and we're stuck inside developing cabin fever.
