05.19.24 Still workin' down in Cape May...

I don't know if I'm just slow or things just take longer as you get older. It was another work detail down in Cape May but this time I brought Erin to help with the heavy lifting. On the way down we made a detour to Newfield and I delivered a TFO Mangrove push pole Joe wanted for his boat. I've

had it for years and never even put it together. My thought was that I could use it with my old Jones Brothers boat but Joe will get more immediate and better use on his boat. On the way out he handed me

a couple of nice flies he tied. One looks like it would be perfect as an eel imitation that I could use for the river. I think he called it an "Eel Changer" tied on Chocklett's shanks.

Cape May was still a buzz with the shooting of a new Bob Dylan movie, A Complete Unknown, which will be out in early 2024. While it's shot in the Cape it is really depicting Newport, Rhode

Island. We stopped as did others hoping for a glimpse of somebody famous. Erin was looking for an actor named Timothee Chalamet, but all we found was his stunt double in action.

On Saturday morning I got up early and headed for the bay. The usual plug guys were there but limited to a few feet out due to the high tide. While walking I found what I think was a spotted hake.

Surely these could be a healthy snack for a bass, bluefish, or fluke. While there the "Delaware" made its early morning run over to Lewes, Delaware. Reminds me of the ferry to the Vineyard.....
