Today I had the pleasure of having Dr. Ron out on a cold and blustery beach in search of his first striped bass. He worked hard from both the rocks and the sand on the incoming tide and just when the gusts hit 25, he hit paydirt. One came to hand, one unbuttoned on the reach at the waterline, and several got a flossing, even though they have no teeth.
It was a challenging but fun day and a small, yet nice, fish under tough conditions is a great way to start off a saltwater fly fishing addiction!
