Spent the early afternoon at the Orvis New York City Store. Had a nice intimate group of anglers who sat in on my presentation. Some of whom I fished with before and others I hope to fish with in the future. Today started the week long Orvis Days, and it continues tonight with live music, wine and cheese, and some special in-store deals, plus there might be a coupon if you ask the right person (Rob- fly fishing manger!)

Oct. 6 Saturday- H2 (Helios 2) special preview day-come cast the new H2 at Central Park.
Oct 11 Thursday- Jonny King, fly tyer extroidinaire, will be at the shop demonstrating some of his ties including the Kinky Muddler and Splitsville series of trout flies.
Oct 12 Friday- It a Friday Two-fer- Capt Joe Demalderis, 2010 Orvis Guide of the Year, will be presenting on fly fishing the Upper Delaware and joining Joe is photographer Brent Taylor. Taylor filmed and produced a video and it has been accepted as part of the Drake Fly Fishing Film Tour. You'll be one of the first to see it during this "Sneak Peek" showing. See the trailer below...

Today I was able to try on the new Silver Sonic waders. It features Orvis sonic welding technology, these are not stiched and sealed, the seams are welded watertight shut. It also features the convertible top which goes from chest to waist high without taking the straps off. You can see a video on it below the bad picture of me modeling the waders.
