03.03.11 I thought my fly fishing rants were good...& good stuff for Vaughn Cochran!

First, a really good rant...

I found this editorial by Joe Cornwall from the Fly Fish Ohio website, you can read it HERE. I think it's  really well written gives a well argued position on the state of some aspects of the fly fishing industry today.

And then Vaughn Cochran and Black Fly Outfitters goes mainstream in the golf world!

I spent a few days last week with Vaughn Cochran while at the Bimini Big Game Club. Vaughn is a "retired" flats guide, well known artist, fly fishing resort manager, fly shop owner, a hell-uv-a nice guy, and more! After our trip to Bimini it seems Vaughn and his Black Fly Outfitter, HERE, has hit it big. German golfer Martin Kaymer wore one of Cochran's "Black Fly Buff"'s in the finals of the World Golf Championship Accenture Match Play in Arizona. From what it sounds like orders for the buff, that protects anglers from the sun and removes perspiration have been pouring in. If you'd like to order one see the link above. Congrats Vaughn!
