Wow, St Patricks Day, we're getting closer to being in a full swing spring. No packed bars, no bands, low key celebrations. Tonight will be corned beef and cabbage at home with a bunch of Smithwicks.
On the striped bass ASMFC debacle, yesterday the still can't figurine out what bait means, and what needs to be included, or attached, to a circle hook. They're splitting hairs, not noticing the elephant in the room, dead bass. They want to skirt around it, thinking they can explain it away. Make it catch and release, make it artificials only, shut down the pre-spawn honey holes like the Raritan Bay for a few weeks, or days in the week, so they get a chance to spawn. Fisheries management, at least striped bass, and the ASMFC is a joke.
