Ran down to throw some flies in the river waiting for Theresa to get some last minute stuff done before heading south to the Cape. Played with a bunch of smaller (20-24 inch) fish, brought three to hand. with the rain and the cloud cover water temps down to 57 degrees and 24,000 cfs.
Luckily it looks like the idea of the SS Minnow was scratched as above is what I found when I went poking around where the forest meets the river. That was never going to be a a good idea. I did have a little bit of fun when I found the below water which looked tempting. I thought I might throw a fly in there before stepping into it. It was hard to really cast so it was a short cast
up at the top and then a series of strips through. On the second cast it got blown up and and I had the fish on for a second. It felt different and I thought it might have been a snakehead. And speaking of snakes as I walked out I found this beefy serpentine waiting for the sun to come out.
