Well it's really all about the tides, and these days, the flows. It's running 44,000 now. I promise I'll stop mentioning that but it's a good log to look back on. Low tides at 0830 AM and PM make fishing possible these days. We're off to Cape May so hopefully the flows will be down when I get back.
The herring run this year has been very strong, if fact, the best I've seen since we moved out here. With the flows up the bait gets pushed to the corner pockets and the signature black tails can be seen swimming up along any structure and in between the rocks.
For me it was a one and done outing which was fine and to be honest going away for the weekend will be a nice break. Looks like a solid weekend before we get rain again next week. One thing that is good is the water temps are now down to 60 from a high of 72 a week or so ago.
