You would think with all the anticipation I had about this weeks trip up north I'd be better prepared. Spent the day emptying out the fly tying room and getting into bins for easy storage. Funny thing is I may not even tie a fly while I'm up there, but I'm ready.
And there'a the Double- Wide as I call her. I purchased this off Marketplace about two years ago with the sole thinking it was the PERFECT Vineyard watercraft. Well last year I got blown around Menemsha Pond. In the end it wasn't worth the hassle. But this year, well, it probably won't be worth the hassle. I have to bring it, that's what I purchased it for. Now, one thing, last year I noticed water in both pontoons? How did it get there?
So today I asked Delaware Joe to give me a hand figuring it out. We were able to drain the water out which made it lighter and easier to get up and in and out of the pickup.
We dropped her into Mercer Lake and watched and waited. After 30 minutes we took her and the pontoons were high and dry. Once back at home I flipped her again, pressure washed the bottoms, and looked for any grooves that might be letting water inside.
I'm looking forward to giving it another go this year. All I need is one good outing from it and I'll be good and will return it to Facebook Marketplace for the next person to enjoy.
