You know the drill so why tell the story. I'll let the images do that. Day in a nutshell. Arrive 0630. Chilly. Wind cranking SSW (not west) to 30 mph. Hit Deal to North Beach and back down to Spring Lake and ended up in Avon. Low tide when I got there, high when I left. Not a lot of anglers. Some birds. Sand eels. Saw a few small bass caught. Not going back.
It's calling for a hard west all weekend with no rain during the day. Could be good, somewhere. Bigger fish low Monmouth County yesterday morning and then bigger to big fish
down in Ocean County somewhere where you can drive on the beach. That's Shell E., sporting a Pop Fleyes hat, with a tank of a 44 inch bass. It's a smorgasbord of bait each day but you just know what's going to be on a the menu. Some slot fish, < 28 inches are starting to show in bigger numbers which is normal for this time of year. But what's interesting is there's still big fish coming through. Those fish in Long Island? Who knows what they'll do. So for now you just got to get out there, get lucky, or have a solid network of fishing buds willing to give you a call.
