If you're out in Van Nuys, California tomorrow fly fishermen and tyer, author, and friend of Bob Popovic's Al Ouattrocchi , or Al Q for short, will be holding a tribute event at the Fishermen's Spot starting around noon. He'll be joined by Kim Mutaw, who I have met at The Fly Fishing Show. They'll be tying up an assortment of Bob's most well known flies and have videos of Bob running, some of which have never been seen.
This event is like the one Abe Pieciak recently held last Kismet Outfitters in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard. Events like this would make Bob proud as we continue to benefit for all of his contributions, and friendship, to those who are passionate about fly fishing. If you getting ready to fish the fall run no doubt Bob will be somewhere in the conversation, or most surely in your fly box.
