05.15.11 Had a great day with the kids at the JSTU fishing derby at Turkey Swamp Park

     Even though there were showers on and off this morning the families and kids had a great time fishing at Turkey Swamp Park. The Jersey Shore Trout Unlimited in conjunction with the Monmouth Park System  held their open house which included a two hour fishing derby. We had 50 kids enter the contest and about 8 JSTU members on hand to help out. In the end it was a 16 inch catfish that took first prize. My daughter Erin was the only fly rodder out of the bunch and she landed 3 sunnies which totaled about 10 inches in length.
